MILAN – Benoit Cauet’s table-topping Inter Under 17 Lega Pro side beat AC Milan 2-0 at the Centro Sportivo Vismara on Sunday afternoon in the last game of the regular season.
The Rossoneri threatened first, only for the crossbar to come to Inter’s rescue. Cauet’s youngsters showed good character to hold their nerve, however, and found the back of the net on 35 minutes after Adorante finished off a flowing move to give the Nerazzurri a 1-0 lead at half-time.
The second half got off to the best possible start, Visconti’s pass enabling Gnoukouri to fire home after just a few minutes. Inter hit the crossbar late on, but it remained 2-0 until the referee brought proceedings to a close.
