MILAN – Dejan Stankovic has called upon the team to put this defeat behind them and focus on what's ahead.
"We came into this game on the back of some good results," declared the Nerazzurri club manager to Inter Channel. "Unfortunately we've lost some important points in the race for the Champions League spot, but as the coach says we must never give up. Now we have to prepare for the upcoming match and continue moving forward.
"We cannot allow a few isolated moments to decide the outcome of games. We should have wrapped up the game earlier, it's already happened a couple of times that we've not been able to do that. Things have gone wrong in a couple of matches, but that can happen sometimes."
The former Nerazzurri star dismissed any suggestions that the international break came at the wrong time for Inter. "Some games go right for you, some don't. It doesn't depend on the international break.
"We did well in the first half, we were organised and had the right mentality. Two moments in five minutes changed the course of the match. I'm upset for the players who had been playing really well recently. We have to pick our heads up and prepare for the away trip to Frosinone.
"It's strange we're the squad that has committed the least fouls this season but we've had loads of red cards. Nevertheless, I don't like judging the players because all sorts of things can happen on the pitch. There are so many factors that can lead to a yellow or a red card during the match."
