MILAN – F.C. Internazionale would like to wish former Inter midfielder Francisco Javier Farinos a very happy 38th birthday.
Spanish midfielder Farinos turned out for the Nerazzurri on 76 occasions between 2000 and 2004, scoring three goals, against Juventus, Reggina and Hellas Verona. Interestingly, Farinos was also once forced to play in goal for six minutes…
It was the UEFA Cup quarter-final second leg against Valencia at Mestalla. With the Nerazzurri leading 1-0 and the home side spurring Valencia on for an equaliser, Farinos found himself pulling on the goalkeeping gloves after Francesco Toldo was sent off in the 89th minute. Thankfully, the Spaniard was able to survive the ensuing six minutes unscathed and Inter marched on to the semi-finals.
Happy birthday, Francisco!
