MILAN - Salvatore Cerrone’s Berretti side were in action at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti on Tuesday as they drew 3-3 with Brazilian outfit Palmeiras.
Despite falling ahead early on, goals from Ndiaye and Donnarumma gave the Nerazzurri a 2-1 half-time lead. Yet Cerrone’s side were forced to dig even deeper after the break as Palmeiras took the score to 3-2 and it was Braidich who found the net to secure a draw for Inter.
The match serves as preparation for the 26th edition of the Claudio Sassi Memorial tournament, the renowned youth competition taking place in Modena and Reggio Emilia from 25 March. The Berretti kick off their own campaign on Friday against Chiasso (17:15 CET kick-off at Modena’s Ferrari di Fiorano). Cerrone’s side have been drawn in Group A, one of three four-team groups.
On Saturday 26 March, Inter will take on Padova at the Stadio Comunale in Finale Emilia (17:00 CET kick-off), before going toe to toe with Japanese side Machida Zelvia on Sunday in their last match of the group stages (Campo Manfredini in Saliceta San Giuliano, 11:00 CET kick-off).
The semi-finals are set for Sunday 27 March, with the final itself taking place on Monday 28 March.
