ESORDIENTI READY FOR MUNDIALITO QUEST

Fabio Sacco’s youngsters are set to take part in the 23rd edition of the international tournament in Portugal between 20 and 26 March

MILAN – The Nerazzurri Esordienti side departed for the 23rd edition of the Mundialito international tournament in Portugal on Friday morning.

Inter – who finished as runners up in last year’s tournament – have been drawn in Group 32 and will make their competition bow on Saturday against Portuguese side Lusitano de Evora-os Geraldinhos (Vila Real de Santo Antonio, 10:00). The same venue will host the Nerazzurri’s second and third matches, against Spanish outfit Puertorrealena and an African team from Angola, on Tuesday 22 March (9:00 and 16:00 kick-offs respectively). Their last group-stage game will be against Spanish side Verdeluz and take place on 23 March at 10:00.

The top two from each group (there are a total of 16 groups each made up of five teams) will go through to the Gold stage of the competition, which kicks off with the round of 32 and culminates with the final on Saturday 26 March.

Also participating in the tournament are Barcelona, Malaga, Porto, Benfica, Celta Vigo, Liverpool, Juventus, Fluminense, Central Brooklyn, Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund.
