MILAN – There’s way too much love for the Nerazzurri around to keep the Inter Club network confined to the Italian boot itself. Just ask Antonio Bulic, president of Inter Club Fedeli, a Croatian-based Inter Club whose name – meaning loyalty in English – just about says it all…
When and how did Inter Club Fedeli come about?
"Inter Club Fedeli was officially founded on 27 June 2009. There were five of us – we met at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and decided to created our very own new Inter Club in Croatia, giving it the name ‘Fedeli’. We’re dead proud to have registered over 170 members every season, even surpassing that total in seasons where the Nerazzurri have done particularly well."
Is there an event you’ve organised that makes you particularly proud?
"For us it’s an event every time we go to San Siro. We have to travel for over eight hours but we’re all really happy throughout the journey. I remember in 2012, when Inter played Hajduk Split in Croatia, we went to cheer them on there. It was an intense day because supporting a foreign team in your own country is quite a challenge."
Is there an Inter Club Coordination Centre event that your members particularly enjoyed?
"Over the years we’ve been able to take part in the walkabouts, discovering some of the hidden parts of the stadium. Some of our members have participated in Appiano Day while others have been involved in Meet & Greets after matches. When we were at Appiano Gentile, we were even able to meet Dejan Stankovic and Javier Zanetti – it’s something we’ll never forget. Inter Club has enabled us to make our dreams come true, like taking photos with the trophies the club has won and meeting Inter Forever legends at Inter Club Home at San Siro."
How do you get junior members involved?
"We have members scattered all over the country so that distance means it’s harder to bring everyone together. However, whenever we do organise a match trip or another activity, we try to get youngsters involved by making the events fun and enabling them to spend time with everyone all together."
How else do you support the club?
"We do a variety of things. First and foremost we try to attend matches. Since we set up we’ve organised over 70 trips to Milan plus others to Rome, Udine, Trieste, Split, Barcelona, London, Munich, Wolfsburg and Cluj. When we’re not going to the stadium, we get together to watch the matches on television. We also organise a three-way tournament in Rijeka every year against fan clubs of other Italian sides – we make sure we do everything we can to secure another success in the name of Inter!"
