CITTÀ SANT'ANGELO – Inter U15s made a blistering start to the Nike Premier Cup 2016 in Città Sant'Angelo (Pescara) as they made light work of their two group-stage opponents to race into the quarter-finals.
The Nerazzurri thrashed Udinese 5-0 in their opening game on Friday morning, Sakho giving Stefano Bellinzaghi’s youngsters a narrow half-time lead before Vergani, Sakho again, Kajganic and Opoku struck after the break to complete a convincing win.
Inter continued their good form in the second match of the day with a 2-0 defeat of Cesena. Though the warm temperatures kept the tempo down, Opoku fired the Nerazzurri ahead from a corner on 13 minutes, while Ansani stabbed home a rebound in the 77th minute to put the result to bed after Vergani had been denied by the post (Vergani would be again thwarted by the woodwork in the closing stages).
Inter will now play Palermo in the quarter-finals at 9:00 CET on Saturday morning.
