MILAN - Mauro Icardi bagged his 12th goal of the season on Sunday, as he scored to help Inter to a 3-1 win over Palermo in Week 28 of Serie A: "My team-mates played brilliantly on Wednesday and - despite a bit of fatigue - we were once again able to perform well tonight," said the Nerazzurri captain shortly after the final whistle. "We created lots of chances tonight and could have scored even more than the three we managed."
"I don't see this as an Inter renaissance," he added. "We've known how much potential is in this side right from the start of the season, our form has dropped off lately and we hold our hands up. But this is the sort of performance we need to consistently produce."
On the Roma game: "We have to focus on our next game against Bologna, it'll be a tough match that we'll need to approach well like we did on Wednesday and once again tonight. I want to achieve great things here, I know it's my job to score goals and, as I've always said, if we create chances, the goals will come."
