VECCHI: "WE MUSTN'T EASE UP NOW"

U19 coach urges Inter to keep going after victory over Brescia: "We have four big games before Viareggio and we want to consolidate our position"

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI - Stefano Vecchi was pleased with a deserved win against Brescia today but says his Primavera side nearly shot themselves in the foot.

The visitors took the lead through Minelli in the first half before strikes from Baldini and Bakayoko turned the tables after the interval.

"The half-time scoreline wasn't a true reflection of the way the game was going," the Nerazzurri coach told Inter Channel. "We did make a lot of mistakes - not only with our finishing but at the back too. We created problems for ourselves at times.

"But we were playing a team who can cause problems for anyone with their possession game and attacking verve and we restricted them to a single shot. It would have been hugely disappointing if we hadn't won the match after all the chances we fashioned."

Recent signing Christian Kouame was one of the liveliest up front but didn't manage to get his name on the scoresheet.

"Kouame can certainly play, he creates lots of chances and just needs a bit more confidence in front of goal," Vecchi explained. "We'll work on that with him but the main thing is he's getting into dangerous positions. He's making a big contribution at the moment and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he gets off the mark."

After a busy run of games, Inter's fixture list is a bit less crammed at the moment.

"Now that we're not playing every three or four days we'll have more time to prepare for our matches properly. We have to stay focused on the league because we have four big games coming up before the Viareggio Cup and we want to consolidate our position in the table."
