PRIMAVERA GO TOP AFTER COMEBACK WIN OVER BRESCIA

Stefano Vecchi's boys overturn a 1-0 first-half deficit through Baldini and Bakayoko to take the points and leapfrog Cagliari at the summit

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – The Primavera team came from a goal down against Brescia to seal a 2-1 victory on Saturday and move above Cagliari at the top of the table awaiting the Sardinians' result.

The Nerazzurri U19s had the better of the first half – January signing Kouame twice denied from close range by visiting keeper Lancini and Carraro striking the post from distance – and yet they found themselves behind to Minessi's goal at the break.

However, just three minutes into the second half Correia crossed for Baldini to level the scores.

Stefano Vecchi then threw on Bakayoko shortly before the hour mark, switching to an aggressive 4-2-4 formation, and within minutes it paid dividends. Gyamfi's cross was handled by Bodei and the ref pointed to the spot. Bakayoko stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to give Inter the lead.

The Nerazzurri almost made it three with six minutes left on the clock as Kouame skipped away from the Brescia rearguard only to be thwarted once more by an onrushing Lancini. Rapaic pounced on the loose ball but his shot was cleared off the line.

Inter nonetheless won the game and move up to 41 points, four points clear of Chievo and AC Milan in third and two ahead of Cagliari, who play Bologna on Sunday.
