SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – Inter are through to the Primavera TIM Cup final after a 2-2 draw with Lazio at the Breda in the second leg of their semi-final tie. The result meant the Nerazzurri sealed a 3-2 aggregate win to set up a showdown with either Fiorentina or Juventus in the final.
After a goalless first half, Stefano Vecchi’s side took the lead in the 69th minute through Rey Manaj, who was scoring his first goal in the Nerazzurri shirt. Lazio turned the tie on its head minutes later, as Cali headed home from a corner on 74 minutes to level the scores on the day and then struck again less than 60 seconds later.
The Nerazzurri wasted no time in hitting back, however, as Manaj stabbed home from inside the Lazio box 11 minutes from time. There followed a tense last ten minutes, with Germoni, Pinamonti and Cali all seeing red, but there was to be no denying Inter their date with Coppa Italia destiny.
