VERONA – Inter's vice president Javier Zanetti found time to speak to Italian television channel Mediaset Premium just before kick-off in Hellas Verona v Inter.
"We're expecting a tough game today but it's very important. A win will lift us into third place, but aside from this there are a lot of teams battling for that spot so the main thing is to add continuity to Wednesday's victory over Chievo Verona.
"As for the quality of our play, we're building a squad in the hope that it can find consistency in performances as well as results.
"With Mancini's contract renewal, we have a lot of faith in Roberto's work and we've always shown that. For now we need to concentrate on the games, we'll make the necessary evaluations later."
Zanetti also had a few words for certain individual players: "Consistency will do Kondogbia good, we have a lot of trust in him and his ability. It's not easy to adapt to Serie A after playing in another league but that's what we're expecting of him. I have no doubts he'll start producing.
"I speak a lot with Mauro Icardi. He's a young lad with a lot of responsibility as captain of such a big club. He needs to be calm and show his ability on the pitch.
"There's a lot of respect for him in the changing room and upstairs at the club. It was key that he got back to scoring ways on Wednesday."
