MANCINI AND JOVETIC PRESS CONFERENCE

The manager and Nerazzurri forward look ahead to tomorrow's game against PSG in Doha: "Big game. We want to prepare well for the second half of the season"

DOHA - Roberto Mancini and Stevan Jovetic held a news conference at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, following the Nerazzurri's first training session of the day. Tomorrow's friendly against Paris Saint-Germain is already sold out: "I'm delighted to be here today because there's a great atmosphere, lovely weather to train in and top facilities. I want to congratulate those working to prepare for the 2022 World Cup because they're doing a terrific job. I would also like to thank them for having us."

The Nerazzurri first meet the side from the French capital, before a return to league action with a trip to Empoli: "We have to focus to perform well at Empoli and the PSG game will be a great test. They're one of Europe's best sides but we're Inter and when two top teams meet it's always impossible to call."

Stevan Jovetic is ready for tomorrow's match albeit with one eye on the league: "We have a big match tomorrow and we have to play well to prepare as best we can for Empoli." The Montenegrin then answered a question about the 2022 World Cup: "I represent a small country and it will be tough to make it. It's still a long way off, I'm 26 and I hope to still be playing international football then to try and qualify."

Jovetic was also keen to set the record straight on the rumours surrounding his relationship with Icardi: "I've got no issue with Mauro, neither on or off the pitch. Of course we can improve and we'll get better as the season wears on. He's a good lad and a great player."

Roberto Mancini assessed where his side are at in the midst of the winter break: "We've come on a lot from last season. It's a very strange year in Serie A, when we started the campaign we were aiming for Champions League qualification, now who knows? We want to do the best we can. I've not yet spoken to the players about Lazio, it mustn't happen again but it's a defeat and defeats are in the past. We have to look forward. Vidic is an Inter player, there's no issue there."

Finally, the coach flashed a smile when asked about his opposite number, Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc, also in attendance: "Yes, I'll speak to Blanc about Lavezzi after the press conference."
