MILAN - InterNOS welcomed a special guest for the final show of 2015. Javier Zanetti answered questions from Nerazzurri fans on the club channel.
"2015 was positive in my opinion and I hope the team can finish the year with another win to enjoy a relaxed Christmas," began the vice president. "I'm learning a lot in my new role and studying loads too. I thank the club for giving me the chance to do my bit. I'm getting to know all the various areas of the club and gaining experience."
Zanetti spoke about the Champions League final in Madrid: "It was an unforgettable night. Lifting the Champions League as captain, alongside my team-mates, was one of the best moments of my career. For many of us, it was our last chance to triumph in Europe and make history at the club."
He also discussed Zanetti Story: "Ever since I retired, life has been full of surprises. When the idea of making a film about me came up, I couldn't believe it. Looking back over my career and hearing my father meant so much to me."
On his love for the club: "I had the chance to move to other clubs but I wanted to make my mark here. I made a decision from the heart, along with my wife Paula. Inter is my big family and I couldn't leave the club at a tough time. I wanted to win with the Nerazzurri and over time I was proved right. I took my time before deciding to hang up my boots, but now I've begun a new chapter. It's a wonderful and enormous reponsability being vice president. I'm proud and honoured to represent Inter around the world. This experience is allowing me to grow as a person and contribute something tangible at the club."
He finished with a word on the current Nerazzurri side and Inter Forever: "From the outside they look a very solid side, improving game by game and challenging at the top again. Mancini is doing a brilliant job with the lads. There's a fantastic spirit and they're a very humble group. Inter Forever is a great opportunity to meet up and recall good times with the Nerazzurri. We get on so well that when we go back out to play, we never want to stop! Plus it's amazing to wear the Inter colours."
