JOVETIC EYEING CUP SUCCESS

Montenegrin interviewed by Premium Sport: "We're focused on our target - winning each game as it comes. Coppa Italia a trophy we want to win just like the league"

MILAN - Stevan Jovetic insists that doing well in the Coppa Italia is just as important to Inter as continuing their excellent start in Serie A.

"Tomorrow is a very important match for us because the Coppa Italia is a trophy we want to win just like the league and we'll try to go as far as we possibly can," the Montenegrin striker told Mediaset Premium ahead of the Nerazzurri's last-16 meeting with Cagliari at the San Siro on Tuesday night.

Inter go into their midweek cup encounter after extending their lead at the top of Serie A to four points following Saturday's 4-0 victory over Udinese.

Quizzed about the Nerazzurri's title chances, Jovetic continued: "It's still early days. I don't read much of what gets written to be honest, so I don't know what they're saying about us being clear at the top. We just need to stay focused on our target, which is to win each game as it comes.

"Juventus are back in it now too. We're not scared of them but they are a very good team. There are other sides up there as well but we're ready for them."
