SAMADEN REPORTS ON ECA-EPFL YOUTH FOOTBALL CONFERENCE

Nerazzurri academy director talks to Radio Inter from Manchester: "We're the Italian club with the most academy products playing in the top five European leagues"

MILAN – Inter youth academy director Roberto Samaden spoke to Radio Inter from Manchester today, where he is representing F.C. Internazionale at the Conference on Youth Football organised jointly by the European Club Association (ECA) and the European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL).

He explained: "Today our work was highlighted and the official statistics from the CIES Football Observatory were presented, and they showed that we're the Italian club with the most academy products playing in the top five European leagues."

The conference offers an opportunity not only to exchange views with other clubs but also to see how things are done in other European leagues. Samaden continued: "There's no bridge between the academy and the first team in Italy. We should have B teams, like in England, and reform the Primavera championship so that youngsters can progress gradually from the academy to the first team."
