APPIANO GENTILE – Stevan Jovetic was hosted in the Inter Channel studios today for this week's episode of InterNos.
The forward began by reflecting on Inter's first ten games of the season, which have left them in joint second place. "It's all going well so far. We're happy to be up near the top but we're not totally happy because we can do a lot better. We have a huge game coming up against Roma now and we hope to win it so we can move up to the summit again."
He continued by talking about his summer move to Inter and his aims for the future: "Inter had been keeping tabs on me for ages. I spoke to Mancini and Ausilio in the summer and when they set out their plans I agreed immediately. This is one of the biggest seven or eight clubs in the world. Some amazing players have passed through here and I want to follow in their footsteps and make history with Inter.
"I feel good. We have a superb team here with lots of great lads and great fans too. Our target is to finish in the top three because we want to get back into the Champions League – that's where Inter deserve to be. Then of course if we're still up there and in the running for first place when spring comes around... who knows. It's early days to be talking about it but I feel we could do it."
The 25-year-old went on to discuss the differences between the Premier League and Serie A: "My style of play hasn't changed but I found it easier to play in England. There's more space and less of an obsession with tactics. The defenders are much smarter In Italy and they work together more. They don't spend much time on tactics over there."
The No.10 also commented on the reception he's been given by Inter fans: “I didn't expect to be given such a welcome right from the start. Scoring on my debut against Atalanta helped and then I bagged a brace in the next game against Carpi. I'm really happy about my good start and I always try to give everything for the team. Do I feel like a leader? The main thing is we all fight together – we all have to do our bit.”
Jovetic ended by looking ahead to Inter v Roma: "It will be a great game. I can't wait to get our there and face off against friends of mine like Pjanic and Dzeko. The San Siro has been packed out for the big matches this season and it's amazing to play in an atmosphere like that."
