MILAN - Inter won the 24th edition of the Luigi Berlusconi Trophy by virtue of Geoffrey Kondogbia's solitary 12th-minute strike this evening, but if the cup went to the black and blue half of the city it was thanks in no small measure to the saves of Juan Pablo Carrizo.
The Argentine shotstopper, who earned himself the man of the match accolade after pulling off a number of key interventions during the game, commented: "I'm pleased because I think I played well and because it's always important to win the derby.
"The performances of those who played tonight show that we have strength in depth and we're all ready to step in when the gaffer needs us."
Carrizo ended with a brief comment on today's goalscorer: "Geoffrey deserved that goal. He's come in for some unfair criticism in the media."
