MILAN - Roberto Mancini expressed his satisfaction with what was a good runout for many of his fringe players at the Stadio Meazza tonight as Inter beat AC Milan to claim the Luigi Berlusconi Trophy.
"The guys who played here tonight did well," the manager commented after the final whistle. "We gave some playing time to those who have seen less action so far."
The Nerazzurri boss then responded to claims that Inter would snub the competition: "Unfortunately we have a game on Saturday and we had to rest some players today but they all showed the right attitude."
Asked about today's matchwinner Geoffrey Kondogbia, Mancini continued: "He put on a good display besides scoring the goal. He's getting better but he only started one game on the bench. It will happen to others too because we'll be playing three times in a week."
Palermo, Bologna and Roma await in the next ten days but the coach insisted it's very much a case of one match at a time: "For now we just have to concentrate on Palermo because it won't be easy. We'll try to play a good game."
