VECCHI: "SIGNS OF PROGRESS"

The Primavera head coach spoke to Inter Channel after the home victory against Cesena

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – Inter U19 coach Stefano Vecchi has praised his team's performance after their 3-1 win over Cesena in Week 5 of the Primavera 2015-16 season.

"It was just the response we were expecting in terms of the result, but in terms of our style of play we actually created a lot of chances in the first half against Cagliari. The difference was in our finishing: we scored three today, while two weeks ago we let goals in without replying at the other end. Also, we saw a clear improvement in quality in the second half today.

"On another day we might have put ourselves under pressure when they scored just before the break, but my boys were fantastic at standing tall and working openings to get the third goal without risking it too much. This is a good sign and we played very well.

"I am happy to see signs of progress, we put in a top performance against a good team today. Now we need to find a bit more consistency and allow this team to gel. If anyone puts themselves above the team, they won't play."
