APPIANO GENTILE - Roberto Mancini held a news conference this afternoon to preview Inter's Serie A Week 8 clash with Juventus at the Meazza tomorrow.
"It’s an important match because we’re playing the team that won the last four league titles," he began. "The mental aspect is crucial and we must make sure we get off to a good start and are totally focused. Beating Juventus now could show us whether we’re able to stay up there at the top."
Lots of players have only just come back from international duty and the manager said: "Nearly all our guys played two games with their national sides and Medel only got back yesterday. Jovetic is in fairly good shape. He’s taken part in the last three training sessions and is much better now."
The Nerazzurri boss doesn’t think the league table has really taken shape yet. "Napoli, Juve and Roma are very well equipped. They’ve been up there challenging for years and haven’t changed much. We want to stay near the top and be in the mix right down to the wire - that’s our aim. The league is pretty even.
"A win tomorrow would be great for morale, which is important for all teams. It’s a long, hard season for all of us and anyone can lose or draw over the next 31 matches. I don’t think anyone will go and win them all. There are some teams who are on form at the moment but it’s impossible to win them all.
"We’re second in a tight table with Juventus, Roma and Napoli behind us. We need to play relaxed but with the utmost concentration because there are hidden dangers in every single game."
