MILAN – The focus switched to World Cup 2018 qualification last night for the Nerazzurri’s international contingent as Fredy Guarin, Jeison Murillo, Gary Medel and Miranda were all representing their respective national sides in South America. Yuto Nagatomo was in friendly action for Japan.
Guarin and Murillo both started as Colombia beat Uruguay 3-0 thanks to goals from Godin (34), Rolan (51) and Hernandez (87).
Miranda wore the captain’s armband and played the entire 90 minutes of Brazil’s 3-1 victory over Venezuela. Willian pitched in with a goal either side of half-time, while Oliveira added a third midway through the second half.
Gary Medel’s Chile side also tasted victory as they beat Peru 4-3. Alexis Sanchez and Vargas both scored braces for Chile, while Farfan bagged two goals for Peru and Guerrero added a third late on. Medel played the full 90 minutes.
Iran and Japan played out a 1-1 friendly draw, with goals from Torabi and Muto in the 45th and 48th minutes respectively. Inter man Yuto Nagatomo was on the bench.
