NERAZZURRI SPEAK AT BROOKS BROTHERS LAUNCH

Telles, Santon and Jovetic spoke to journalists at the store in Via San Pietro all’Orto

MILAN – The Nerazzurri were out in force this evening as they attended the launch of the club’s official suit for the 2015/16 season. During the event, some of the Inter stars spoke to journalists in attendance.

First up was Alex Telles, who couldn’t resist looking back on the Nerazzurri’s recent derby win: "I’m happy with my Inter debut and most of all I’m delighted to win a match that’s watched all round the world. It was an important victory that boosts our confidence. I think I can improve here – I’m at a top club and that will help me to develop. I’m training hard and am ready whenever the boss needs me."

The next to speak was Davide Santon, who spoke of his happiness at having returned to the club and analysed Inter’s good start to the season: "It’s good to be on top of the table and we’ll enjoy it but at the same time we know there’s a long way to go. We need to ensure we go into every match with the right mentality and try to finish as high as possible.

"We’ve strengthened the squad and have lots of quality players who are working very hard to integrate and adapt. Pre-season is completely different to the league – you change mentality when the season gets underway. We wanted to start strong and that’s what we’ve done.  My time in England helped me grow as a man and as a footballer and I came back to Italy much more mature. I’ve played in the first three games and want to continue in the vein. There were lots of offers for me in the summer but I wanted to stay," declared Santon.

Last but not least was Stevan Jovetic, who looked ahead to the Chievo trip and spoke about the team’s objectives: "We were expecting to start well – perhaps not quite as well as we have but it’s great to be on top of the pile and we want to stay there for as long as possible. It’s only the beginning and we still need to get a lot better. We’ve already put the AC Milan win behind us and have been working on the Chievo trip for three days now. Our main goal is third spot. There’s no point talking about the Scudetto now – we’ll see further down the line."
