MILAN - Geoffrey Kondogbia got his first taste of the Milan Derby this evening and with it his first taste of derby success thanks to a solid team performance and a moment of magic from Fredy Guarin. "That's the thrill of football. We managed to end that great move with a goal," he declared in his post-match interview.
Having joined from Monaco in the summer, the Frenchman is still adapting to his new surroundings. "Every league is different. In Italy it's all very tactical and you need to be totally alert. The level is so high and you can't let your guard slip for a second. You can't compare the Italian, French and Spanish leagues."
For Kondogbia one of the best things about the day was seeing the joy and enthusiasm on the fans' faces. "I already knew the derby was a special game but it's fantastic to see all those people celebrating. You just want to make them happy," he said.
