WOLFSBURG – Inter full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio spoke to Inter Channel after the final whistle had blown on the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 defeat to Wolfsburg in Germany: "Regret, anger, disappointment. I don’t think we were the lesser team today. We made a bit of a mistake for each of the three goals and that’s why there’s some regret, but we’ll give everything we have to get through. We’re desperate to qualify.
"We made three mistakes and conceded three goals. Of course, it’s disappointing when you come to such a tough ground and play as well as we did. Personally I think we put in a good performance overall. We need to be more focused and present fewer scoring chances to our opponents.
"The boss asked me to press high up the pitch. He does that every game, but particularly when we’re up against strong, quick players like we were tonight. It means they have less space to attack, and the more you press the better it works.
"We won the ball back in the midfield and scored from it. There were definitely other chances for us to score but we didn’t take full advantage of them. At the same time, we committed some mistakes that they did well to capitalise on," conceded D’Ambrosio.
