MANCINI: "WE SHOULD HAVE TRIED TO WIN IT"

Nerazzurri coach analysed his side's display at the San Paolo. It ended in a draw but they could have won the match

NAPLES - Inter came back to draw at Napoli with strikes from Palacio and Icardi, but above all due to the tactical nous of Roberto Mancini: "Although we were playing at Napoli against a great side, the disappointing thing is losing 2-0 when you shouldn't be in that situation. We might have to improve in terms of experience and become a bit more cynical. That said, Napoli have a lot of quality up top and can cause you problems at any moment.

"I enjoyed all my players' performances, because we tried to take the game to them, Xherdan included. He won the ball back a lot but then we maybe weren't able to finish the job he started.

"As for whether we played badly for 70 minutes, football's great because everyone sees things differently. For instance, I thought my guys played well.

"We created chances both before and after Hernanes came on but we definitely have to improve. I think that's what Icardi's all about. His strength is the character he displays on the football pitch.

"We were thinking about substituting Santon in the first half, then I swapped him to the opposite side and he played much better. He's matured a great deal following his time in England. Guarin is indispensable for us, even though he takes the odd risk.

"Wolfsburg are very similar to Napoli, they have quick forward players who can cause you problems if you afford them too much space.

"I'm not happy because towards the end we should have tried to win the game. We should have pressed for a third goal."
