CITTÀ SANT'ANGELO - Stefano Bellinzaghi's Inter will meet Genoa for a place in the finals of the 20th Manchester United Premier Cup, a tournament organised by Nike in the Giovanissimi Nazionali age group.
The Nerazzurri made it through to the showpiece thanks to a wonderful run, with Davide Merola in inspired form. They won their opening match 4-0 against Palermo with goals from Visconti, Merola (2) and Gavioli. Their other group match finished in a 2-1 victory over Parma with another double from Merola.
The striker - who hails from Santa Maria Capua Vetere - has since been on fire in the knockout stages. Merola hit a hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Atalanta in the last eight, before another brace in the 2-0 semi-final success over Parma.
Inter meet the Rossoblu tomorrow (kick-off 10:30). The winners will have the chance to fly to Manchester in July to represent Italy in the finals and potentially reach the dream final at Old Trafford.
