JUAN JESUS: "IMPORTANT WIN, A SHOT IN THE ARM"

The 23-year-old Brazilian had his say after the Nerazzurri qualified for the Coppa Italia quarter-finals with victory over Sampdoria

MILAN – "We're very satisfied. This is an important win and a shot in the arm for us. We played really well but now we have to keep on working and keep our heads down." That was Juan Jesus' opening comment after the Nerazzurri's Coppa Italia last-16 triumph against Sampdoria.

The Brazilian centre-back followed up with words of praise for Shaqiri: "There's no doubt about his talent. I'm happy that he scored on his full debut. He and Podolski are sure to give us a huge hand and they'll help us to improve as a team.

"Are Inter top-heavy playing 4-2-3-1? No, if the forwards chip in with the work that makes it a lot easier."

Our No.5 was asked about his league suspension: "For me that's a closed case now. I only spoke about it once because I was saddened by the things Chiellini said after the game. I'm just getting on with it now, working away and waiting for the ban to end so I can play again."

On Inter's chances of hoisting the cup in June: "We've got a great team, we're calmer and we're growing in confidence. I think we can go a long way."
