INTER V LAZIO UNDER THE MICROSCOPE

We delve into some of the stats behind the two sides set to go toe to toe at the Stadio Meazza tonight. With thanks to our friends at Football Data

200-minute Nerazzurri shutout
Inter haven't conceded in their last 200 minutes of football, since Thereau struck in the 70th minute of Inter v Udinese on 7 December. The remaining 20 minutes of that game were followed by clean sheets at Qarabag (0-0, Europa League) and Chievo (0-2, Serie A).

Goals on the bench
The Nerazzurri are joint top of the substitutes' scoring charts in Serie A 2014/15, together with Genoa, Hellas Verona and Chievo Verona. Guarin (two), Osvaldo and Hernanes have all netted after coming off the bench this term.

Icardi the man when it matters
Mauro Icardi's goals have brought Inter ten of their 20 points in 2014/15, making him one of the four most decisive players in Serie A this term alongside Napoli's Higuain, Sampdoria man Gabbiadini and Matri of Genoa. Icardi scored key goals in Nerazzurri victories over Sassuolo (7-0), Cesena and Sampdoria (both 1-0) and the 2-2 draw in Milan against Hellas Verona.

Inter v Lazio: no draws in six and a half years
The last time a competitive match between Inter and Lazio ended all square was on 16 April 2008, a Coppa Italia tie at the Stadio San Siro that finished 0-0. In the fourteen meetings since then, there have been eight victories for the Nerazzurri and six for the Biancocelesti.

2014: Inter fair play, Lazio red mist
Inter and Lazio sit at opposite ends of the fair-play spectrum, considering Serie A matches played in 2014. The Nerazzurri have collected the lowest number of bookings in the top flight (58, joint with Juventus), while ten Lazio players have been sent off in the last calendar year.

Mancini one-up over Pioli
Roberto Mancini got the better of Stefano Pioli, the man in the opposite dugout today, in their only previous meeting as coaches: Mancini's Inter beat Pioli's Parma 2-1 away in Serie A 2006/07.

Mancini's good record against Lazio, unbeaten at home
Today will be the 15th time Mancini has done battle with his former club Lazio. His record currently stands at W6 D6 L2 (both of those defeats were 0-3 while in charge of Fiorentina). As a coach, he's never lost against the Biancocelesti at home: four wins and two draws are his record from six games played on home turf.

Pioli 3-4 Inter
Stefano Pioli will be hoping to level the scores when he faces Inter for the eighth time in his coaching career today: previous match-ups have yielded three wins for the current Lazio manager, four defeats and one draw.
