QARABAG V INTER STAT ATTACK

Check out our analysis of today’s clash at the Tofiq Bakhramov Stadium in Baku, with a little help from our friends at Football Data

38 points in 19 European matches at home
Qarabag at home are a formidable prospect. In their last 19 European home matches, the Azerbaijanis have racked up 11 wins, fives draws and just three defeats for a total of 38 points. That works out as exactly two points per game.

Inter unbeaten in Europe in eight
The Nerazzurri have not lost in the Europa League since 7 March 2013. Since then, Inter have amassed six wins and two draws.

Goal galore in the last six matches
Inter have scored in each of their last six matches, but they’ve also failed to keep a clean sheet in that time as well. The Nerazzurri have scored nine goals, conceding 11. The last game Inter failed to score in was against Parma in Serie A, whilst their last clean sheet came against Sampdoria on 29 October, with Inter prevailing 1-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Zelinka to call the shots
Czech referee Miroslav Zelinka is the man tasked with officiating tonight’s match. Having become an international-standard referee in 2011, the game will be his 13th in European competition. Interestingly, no away team has managed to win in that time, with Zelinka overseeing seven home wins and five draws. Tonight will be his first time in charge of a match involving an Azerbaijani side and his second involving a team from Italy – he refereed Fiorentina’s 3-0 win over Pandurii on 24 October 2013.

Unchartered territory for the managers
Gurban Gurbanov and Roberto Mancini have never faced off against each other as coaches.

Nerazzurri won 2-0 last time out
This is the second competitive match between Qarabag and an Italian club. The first came earlier this very season and saw the Azerbaijanis go down 2-0 in Milan.

Inter unbeaten and in the goals against Azerbaijani outfits
Tonight will be the fourth competitive match between Inter and an Azerbaijani club team. Two of those came against Neftci Baku, whilst the other was this year against Qarabag. Inter have won two and drawn one of those games, scoring each time for a total of seven goals.
