MAZZARRI: "I'M ALWAYS TELLING THE LADS, LET'S PLAY LIKE INTER"

Nerazzurri coach's thoughts in his news conference ahead of Parma

APPIANO GENTILE - Walter Mazzarri spoke to the media earlier today at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti. The coach touched upon a number of different topics: the opposition ("a side that has picked up fewer points than they deserve") and his side's approach to the match ("I'm always telling the lads, we need to play like Inter"). He also spoke about a number of players and the injury situation.

The coach began by discussing Parma:"They're a good side. It's never easy when you play away. I trust in the progress we've made. You always need to respect the opposition. We have to improve in terms of our mentality and play the same football we've produced over the last three matches. Cassano is having a great season, he's on form. We know Parma are awkward opponents, but we're Inter and we need to think like Inter: I'm always telling the lads that."

The Nerazzurri coach added: "I've always tried to make sure outside events don't have an impact on the team. We need to give everything for this club." He then went into more detail. He was asked if he's concerned about the injury situation: "We're doing everything we can to get them fit. I hope they have enough energy to put in a great performance. We're trying to get Hernanes back in time."

Mazzarri then spoke about individual players: "Palacio? When a player finds himself one-on-one with the opposition goalkeeper on two or three occasions it means you're playing good football. The fact he's getting into those positions shows he's got pace and stamina. Perhaps he's just not quite as clear in his head as he should be. I believe that Rodrigo needs to relax and keep playing as he has been doing and the goal will come. It's important the team keeps winning."

He also had a word on the youngsters: "Puscas and Bonazzoli are two very exciting players. Scoring so many goals in the Primavera league helps your self-belief. Should Mauro and Rodrigo not make it, they're raring to go." On Inter's good run of form: "Third place? We need to take things one game at a time and just think about our next match. We need to perform more consistently and focus on Parma."

Finally he spoke about Juan Jesus (He's got a lot of ability and I'm very happy with his performances. He's a physical powerhouse"), before a word on team spirit: "The lads are united and believe in what we're doing. We're all pulling in the same direction. That shows we're working well."
