MILAN - Fredy Guarin is fired up and ready. Ready for the new season and ready for Inter. That's something that came across clearly during his interview with Sky Sport Italia.
The midfielder began: "The people who needed to do something to keep me here did so – and by that I mean everyone, from the club to the fans. Now it's up to me to prove my worth. They helped me and now I have to help myself.
"What's in the past is in the past. We have a new group of players now and a coach is really hungry and determined - he shows us players that constantly. I'm here and ready to show put my skills to use on the pitch, just as he does it off the pitch."
Then he was asked if this is a sort of Inter and Guarin, part 3. He replied: "I prefer to call it the new Inter. I can't wait to get involved again and perform well. We all have to go out there with fire in our bellies, then the technical side sorts itself out."
Finally, he gave his thoughts on the new season: "There are some great teams that have strengthened but we have a good group of lads here who are hungry. Hopefully I can show what I'm capable of this year. I get really annoyed with myself when I'm not able to perform to my full potential: I hope to show everyone – myself first and foremost, then the fans and the coach – that Guarin is here."
