PINZOLO – After the long wait, Yann M'Vila finally got the chance to speak his mind officially as an Inter player today. The powerhouse midfielder was unveiled at the Stadio La Pineta in Pinzolo after this morning's training session and he wasted no time beating around the bush, making it clear from the start just why he's come to Inter and what he hopes to achieve.
Accompanied by sporting director Piero Ausilio, the Frenchman began: "I'm going to give everything I've got for Inter. I see the club has big plans, they want to get back to the top and that's exactly where I want to be."
So what made him choose Inter despite having better offers on the table? "It's not just about the money but what the team can offer you on the pitch. Inter is a massive club and when I heard they were interested in me I jumped at the chance."
M'Vila also commented on how he's settling in: "I'm finding it easy even though I don't speak Italian yet. There are several players who speak French here and they're helping me out."
What's his best position? "I'm happiest playing in front of the defence but I'm prepared to play wherever the coach wants me."
And what about his reputation as a bad boy? "I'm not like that at all, it's just something the French newspapers like to trot out."
After the first few days of training with his new team, he's noted some differences to what he was used to. "I'm learning about the Italian way of doing pre-season training and I like it a lot. The whole squad is following Mazzarri closely, it's a really close-knit group."
Welcome to Inter, Yann!
