PINZOLO – Today, Inter’s managing director spoke with Sky Sport Italia shortly before the team’s training session in Pinzolo.
Today it seems the negotiations for Yann M’vila have reached the final stages.
"You can never be too careful. We’re dealing with complicated negotiations, but we’ve reached the full agreement with all parties involved. Now we’re just missing the details to make the signing official. As we’ve explained several times now, our strategies are shared 100% by everyone, including Mazzarri. He certainly wasn’t an obstacle when certain difficulties came along."
How is the situation going as regards Gary Medel?
"As you’ve been writing for several days, the negotiations are underway. We hope to have the chance to solidify it soon, although perhaps that’s not going to happen in the near term. We hope to reach an agreement with Cardiff. He’s a player that interests us."
What are the chances we see Rolando wearing the Inter shirt again?
"Piero Ausilio, our sporting director, is working on that. We’ll see how things turn out."
Regarding Ausilio, in an interview he gave a few days ago he stated the team has until 2 September for Jovetic. How much importance do you give to the Montenegrin?
"The right amount. The transfer market is fluid and long. There are a lot of things we’re following and I’m not going to go as far as giving you percentages. I can only confirm what Ausilio has already stated."
What kind of Inter side are we seeing here at Pinzolo? So far what kind of impression has the work made on Thohir?
"As he stated in a recent interview, Thohir feels that this upcoming season is his first real one as Inter president. He passionately and closely follows us on a daily basis. I’d also like to take advantage of this moment to send him my best wishes after the operation his father had today. Thohir gained a lot of experience this season and never missed a chance to show how passionate he is about the team."
And what about Walter Mazzarri? How has his pre-season begun?
"He’s looked very relaxed to me so far. Walter has completely embraced the club’s project and is aware of all of its aspects. He’s working with his usual spirit and professionalism that everyone knows him for."
We just saw Ranocchia walk by. Will it be long before he renews his contract?
"He’s seemed content and satisfied to me. He’s also happy with the meetings he’s had with the club and coach. We hope things won’t take long."
There’s also been a lot of talk about outgoing transfers. Who could we see saying farewell soon? We’ve seen names mentioned such as Alvarez, Guarin, Taider…
"They’re all Inter players, and as long as that’s the case I’m sure they’ll do their part. Ausilio is also very active in this area and our intention is to make sure we stay within the limits of Financial Fair Play. If that means sacrificing certain players then that’s what we’ll do."
What kind of Inter is taking shape in Pinzolo and what are your objectives?
"My career at Inter is still young, since it’s only my third year with the Nerazzurri. We’re aware a peculiar cycle just came to an end and we need to build a new one. I hope to see a different Inter, but at the same time one that’s just as passionate and respects the tradition of the club. We earned a spot in Europe and we want to stay there. Last season wasn’t a happy one for us playing only in Italy, and I believe the fans felt the same way."
