KRAKOW - Olek Kawiorsky waited at the airport for the Inter Campus delegation with his usual impeccable sense of organisation and a detailed schedule, full of meetings with local coaches and special moments in store for the children.
In the 17-year history of the Nerazzurri’s social programme, Inter Campus Poland is among the oldest and most developed projects. The centre that Olek represents, the parish of Swieta Jadwiga, has by now become a steady reference point in Krakow from both a technical as well as a social and educational standpoint, with daily activities aimed at the rehabilitation of 300 children facing situations of marginalisation, neglect and other family problems.
During the visit, our coaches Lorenzo Forneris and Lorenzo Gironi were able to observe and conduct training sessions at the sports complex of the Swieta Jadwiga parish as well as at the orphanage in Pawlikowice and the reform school in Krakow, which have now become part of the programme.
For the final day of the visit a party was organised, which was open to all the children of the project on the Jadwiga pitch. After receiving their new shirts the kids were then divided according to age groups to play in three different tournaments, making it a special day to be remembered.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our support for Laura, the younger sister of one of the Inter Campus children, as she and her family fight to overcome her heart defect. Forza Laura!
