PARMA - Inter leave the Stadio Tardini with all three points today for the first time since 2008. Rolando nodded home shortly after the interval to put the Nerazzurri in front then Guarin came off the bench to smash home a second late on. Handanovic again turned in a superb performance, denying Cassano from the spot in the first half.
Mazzarri made an enforced change as Campagnaro came in for the suspended Ranocchia but otherwise stuck with the same starting line-up that beat Sampdoria 4-0 last weekend.
Parma started aggressively with the home crowd behind them and Cassano determined to make his mark. The former Nerazzurri man was offered the chance just nine minutes into the match; unfortunately for him Handanovic took up from where he left off at the Stadio Ferraris, stopping everything that came his way, and the Slovene showed superb reflexes to tip Fantantonio's powerful header over from a corner.
Donadoni's side were playing well with Cassano at the heart of their most dangerous moves, but it was Inter who went closest next when a decent chance fell to Icardi around the half-hour mark. The striker rose well to meet Hernanes' corner but flicked his header a fraction wide of the near post.
Hernanes threatened with a free kick before Mirante pulled off a brilliant stop to thwart Cambiasso, but then in the 43rd minute Parma were awarded a penalty after Samuel trod on Parolo's foot. Handanovic stood up to Cassano as he dived low and turned the striker's spot kick onto the post, and was subsequently jumped on by his joyous team-mates.
Cambiasso almost scored down the other end straight away with a well-struck left-footer, but Mirante managed to save it with his calf. The first period thus ended goalless.
The second half began with Paletta collecting his second yellow of the game after bringing down Palacio, which meant the hosts were reduced to 10 men. From the resulting free kick Inter broke the deadlock, Rolando left unmarked at the far post to head in Hernanes' cross.
Handanovic was still reading from the same script as he denied Cassano once more with his fist, then Lucarelli shook the bar with a bullet header in the 55th minute.
Guarin wrapped up the points on 89 minutes with his first touch after coming on for Hernanes, lashing low across Mirante from 25 yards out.
