MILAN - For years now Comunità Nuova’s IO Tifo Positivo project has been working in Milan and its vicinity, as well as the region of Lombardia, to promote the values of sport as an inspiration for humanity and propose a positive and sustainable model for fan support, while working towards mutual respect, integration and social inclusion. It’s a cultural and preventative intervention that focuses on working with youngsters and adults to bring about a greater awareness.
And so on 21 March 2013, for the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the TWEETOFF RACISM – ELIMINATE RACISM WITH A TWEET campaign was created, aimed at combatting every form of racism and discrimination in sport and daily life.
In the previous edition the participants included: Giovanni Malagò, Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, Cristina Stancari, Chiara Bisconti, don Gino Rigoldi, Pierluigi Marzorati, Nicolò Melli, Kevin Prince Boateng, Paolo Maggioni and Alessandro Cannavò, and Rete G2.
| The event is scheduled for Friday 21 March at the IO Tifo Positivo headquarters (at the Palalido in Piazza Stuparich), where the 2nd edition of "TweetOffRacism" is scheduled, dedicated to Nelson Mandela. It’s a social network campaign and an encounter with professional athletes featuring activities in which students from Milanese schools will take part. The aim is to say no to all forms of racism, with such aids as a historic Smemo cartoon drawn by Scapigliati and published in 1999; the design will be put on by the students in a giant choreographic display.
