VERONA - "To win a game like this you need a solid defence. It makes the task a whole lot easier if you can keep a clean sheet, especially if you have great players up front," smiled Rolando as he spoke to reporters following tonight's match at the Stadio Bentegodi.
He added: "I understand that some people might not have had a lot of confidence in me when I joined because I didn't feature much at Napoli. Besides anything else, I wasn't properly fit after all those months not playing. But then, with the help of the coach and everyone else at the club, it all started going well for me here. It's always easier when people have faith in you, everything comes more naturally. This is a fantastic team and a great club and the better we play the more confidence it gives us.
"Verona are a decent side too but we prepared for this match really well. We knew that if we could keep Toni, Iturbe and Romulo quiet we'd have a better chance of winning."
The Portuguese defender rounded off with a laugh: "A celebration the next time Jonathan or I score? Perhaps we'll do a little jig!"
