HERNANES: "TRAINING A PLEASURE WITH MAZZARRI, EVEN WITHOUT THE BALL"

The midfielder to Sky Sport Italia: "The coach makes all the work interesting. Glad to be one of the first pieces in president Thohir’s project"

APPIANO GENTILE - Little more than a month after his arrival at Inter, Hernanes talked to Sky Sport Italia about what he’s experiencing at the moment ("I feel really good here. I’ve completely adjusted and get on well with everyone") before then discussing the next game the Nerazzurri will face, as well as his current condition: "I can say the injury is behind me and I’m available, but the coach still hasn’t said who will play. We’re expecting to turn in a good performance and give our all to earn some precious points."

Hernanes discussed what Inter are missing that could get them to the same level of Juventus: "What we lack is time. Right now it’s a moment of change and adjustment for us. Things have adjusted more now and, with some time, we can do great things."

The Brazilian also talked about Walter Mazzarri: "I’ve never had a coach like him and I like the way he prepares for games. Before, when I did work on movement without the ball, I found it a bit boring. But Mazzarri does this part of training in a really interesting way and truly gets across the opponents' strengths."

How does it feel to be the first important piece in the project that Inter president Erick Thohir is building? "I’m happy because they’ve entrusted me with an important role and I’m glad to be here. Does my arrival help the midfielders make progress? Yes, because when you have competition in a team it makes everyone give even more. The attention grows, as well as the desire to demonstrate even more."

Hernanes then spoke about Inter’s long run without a penalty in their favour: "It’s something rather strange, but we shouldn’t dwell on it too much. I don’t want to look at these things. I want to focus on our objectives and victories without complaining."

Finally, on the significance of a World Cup in Brazil for a Brazilian: "It’s a childhood dream. Something unlikely to happen again."
