MILAN - Seeing them like this you might have actually confused for them for professional basketball players. There were some skills worthy of the Harlem Globetrotters yesterday in Milan's Piazza Città di Lombardia: the largest covered square in Europe hosted a promotional event of the Euroleague Final Four, which will be held in Milan from 16 to 18 May.
The finals of Europe's premier basketball competition needed top sportsmen to promote it. Who cares if they made their names playing football - as opposed to draining three-pointers - Inter has always been synonymous with the beauty of sport in general.
That's why Francesco Toldo and Riccardo Ferri were special guests at yesterday's event, playing in a 4-on-4 game with some players who know a thing or two about basketball: David Moss and CJ Wallace from EA7 Emporio Armani Olimpia Milano, plus David Gist and Jonas Maciulis of Panathinaikos B.C. Alongside the two Inter Forever members, there were also ex-AC Milan players Daniele Massaro and Stefano Eranio.
It was a fun-filled event, with photos and autographs galore. Whether it was basketball or football, for once it didn't make a difference.
