APPIANO GENTILE - After nearly a month at the club, Danilo D'Ambrosio spoke to Sky Sport 24 about life with the Nerazzurri before looking ahead to the rest of the season.
"I'm
settling in well at Inter, I'm happy with the choice I made. Has it
been tricky to learn what Mazzarri wants from his wide players? Wide
players in Mazzarri's system are definitely very important, it requires a
lot of training, something I'm always happy to do. In fact I stayed
late today to train on my own.
"How's the mood around the place?
The mood perhaps wasn't the best when I first joined but the team
always kept its focus. Is moving step-by-step the right policy? We're
ambitious and, as they say, hunger makes the best sauce."
Then
Danilo spoke about his former team, Torino, and whether he ever expected
the sides to be so close to one another in the table: "Torino are
having a great season, they've got good players and a good coach. Their
first aim is definitely to stay up, but they can start to think bigger
once they've secured 40 points." What about a prediction on the outcome
of the Turin derby against Juventus on Sunday? "I hope Torino win
because I had some great team-mates and I'm sure that, given the way
Torino approach big games, they can cause Juventus problems."
