APPIANO GENTILE – Walter Samuel is this week's guest on InterNOS, the show that allows the fans to provide the questions for their heroes. And Inter Channel was bombarded with messages for The Wall over the last few days.
One of the messages read out to him mentioned the idea had by a group of Nerazzurri fans to erect a Samuel statue after he hangs up his boots. The defender answered: "I have to thank the fans because even during the toughest times on a personal level they always stood by me. But I think that's a bit over the top. I don't think I'm important enough to deserve a statue. Obviously I'm proud to have been a part of this club. I cherish what I've managed to achieve here. I've won trophies I never thought I'd have been able to. And I still feel I have an important role to play."
Samuel also touched on off-field matters and was asked who the best cook is between himself, Zanetti and Cambiasso. "Let's say we split the work: I'm at the grill, while Cuchu and Pupi wait on the tables," he grinned.
InterNOS will air on Inter Channel at 21:00 tonight.
