PALACIO: "DOUBLY PLEASED"

"This will give us a bit of confidence, we have to keep it up. We won at a difficult ground against a great team. Now we'll concentrate on Cagliari"

FLORENCE - "We deserved this win, we played a great game and we're all delighted." That's how Rodrigo Palacio began as he spoke to journalists after the game against Fiorentina.

He continued: "This will give us a bit of confidence but we have to keep it up. We won at a difficult ground against a great team. Now we'll concentrate on Cagliari.

"I try to carry out what the coach tells me to do as best I can: I need to make the runs, hold the ball up at times and not at others, so that I can open up space for the other forwards.

"I enjoy playing alongside another striker. Today you could see we had a greater presence up front. Sometimes we're not able to play the final ball but playing this way is better for the whole team.

"Will I go to the World Cup? I don't know, it won't be easy. There are lots of great Argentine strikers. I just have to keep doing my best here at Inter then we'll see.

"When I hit the post I thought the ball just didn't want to go in for me anymore, then afterwards it finally came off. I'm happy for myself and for the team because we played brilliantly. It went better today than it has in other games. We're working well with the fitness coach and I'm sure we'll get better and better."

Palacio then admitted: "I was a bit worried about the fact I wasn't scoring. Hitting the back of the net is what strikers live for. I've missed some chances recently but this goal today has settled me. Now I hope to get another one next Sunday and help the team win.

"I was talking to Mauro during the game? Yes, he was telling me the instructions the coach had given him before he came on. I'm pleased he's back among the goals and that we got the win."
