INTER 1-1 CHIEVO

Paloschi and Nagatomo on target, but the Japanese has a goal wrongly disallowed and Botta is denied a penalty in added time

MILAN - It finished Inter 1-1 Chievo, with Nagatomo's second goal being disallowed for offside and Botta denied a penalty in second half injury time.

For the final match of the first half of the season, Mazzarri picked a back three of Campagnaro, Rolando and Juan Jesus in front of Handanovic. Jonathan, Kuzmanovic, Cambiasso and Nagatomo played in midfield, with Alvarez and Kovacic supporting lone striker Palacio.

On 8 minutes though, Chievo took the lead: Paloschi scored a great goal, slamming a powerful drive into the roof of the net from the edge of the box. But Inter came back fighting. Four minutes later, Nagatomo levelled the scores, sidefooting home after a lovely cross from Alvarez on the right. The Japanese was in fine fettle and grabbed his second on 14 minutes: however his goal was chalked off despite him being level with the last defender. Midway through the first half Palacio went close for Inter but his downward header went just wide.

The second half was a dogged affair but neither side could find the net. The match ended 1-1, after late penalty appeals were waved away, despite a foul on Ruben Botta.
