MAZZARRI: "PRESIDENT THOHIR CONVEYS CALM"

"I often get to the game and I don't even know who the referee is. He's there to uphold the rules of the game but it doesn't matter to me who it is"

APPIANO GENTILE - During his media conference before Inter v AC Milan, Walter Mazzarri was asked about Erick Thohir's visit to the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti yesterday. The coach replied: "It was a very positive meeting. The president seemed very calm and relaxed, whereas I'm always worked if we don't win. He tried to convey a sense of calmness to us. He liked the way we played against Napoli and he repeated to me that he thinks we're on the right path. We must keep aiming as high as possible and trying to exploit this squad's full potential."

Quizzed about the choice of referee for tomorrow's game. Mazzarri replied: "I often get to the game on Sunday and I haven't even asked who the referee is. I don't want to know. I see the referee as someone who's there to uphold the rules of the game, then if needed you can analyse things after the match. If the referee has made mistakes, I can talk about them perfectly calmly. But it really doesn't matter to me who it is. The referees need to be relaxed and just try to do their jobs as well as possible. I won't talk about things like this before a match."
