ROME (Adnkronos) - "Mazzarri is a great professional and an excellent coach. He has the full confidence of the directors and myself. He boasts the maximum respect of the club and players. All of these things, along with his level of competence, make him the right man for the job." These statements came from new Inter president Erick Thohir, in Rome with his family, as he gave an exclusive interview to Adnkronos.
He continued: "His project with Inter has just begun, and together we’ll decide on the next pieces that can push this team towards important goals. Neither my staff nor myself have ever considered contacting other coaches. We just don’t see the need for it."
President Thohir denied any reports of alleged tensions between himself
and the Moratti family: "There’s none whatsoever. These rumours are
unfounded and untrue. The harmony and serenity between the Moratti family and
myself remains unchanged. The respect between us can’t be questioned. In fact,
it grows stronger every day."
On the Nerazzurri’s Sunday evening game against Napoli, he declared: "It’s
a very important match, but not a decisive one. The season still has a long way
to go." According to Thohir, "It will be another stop along our road
of progress, in which we aim to take Inter as high as we possibly can."
