MILAN – Interviewed by Sky Sport 24 ahead of this evening's Christmas dinner with the club's sponsors, Rodrigo Palacio admitted that he's satisfied with his own form but was keen to divert the attention to the needs of the team.
He said: "Yes, I'm doing well at the moment. I'm happy on a personal level but the most important thing is that Inter win games. Of course the draws have slowed our progress, and we've often been pegged back after taking the lead, but now it's time for us to start winning again, taking each game as it comes. I still think we're having a great season. I don't know how far we can go but we must aim as high as possible. We know there are lots of strong teams around. All we can do is keep pushing on."
Looking ahead to the forthcoming meeting with Napoli, the forward continued: "It's certainly going to be very tough for us. Napoli will be playing at home and they're a very good side with quality players. We'll be working this week with just one aim in mind: to try to win on Sunday. It will be a special game for the coach and I'm sure he'll be given a good reception.
"My contract renewal? My agent is talking to the club. We'll see this week or next.
"January reinforcements? We have been lacking something, I think you can see that, even though we have lots of great players. It's up to the coach to decide what area he feels needs strengthening.
"My position? I like playing as the front man because I can score more goals, but I can play off another striker too, as I've done lots of times in the past - like when I was at Boca Juniors.
"Our run of draws? All that matters now is that we win and put three points on the board."
