LANCIANO – After watching his side seal a 3-1 win away to Virtus Lanciano this afternoon, Primavera coach Salvatore Cerrone reflected on his lads' display.
He began: "It was a tough start for us. They tried to make a physical contest out of it straight away, especially in midfield, where they gave us very little space. Their lead came about quite fortuitously from a set piece: it was a bit of a free-for-all and Donkor wasn't able to clear it properly.
"We set out with the aim of taking the game to them but we got quite a lot wrong in the first 20 minutes. Then we adjusted a few things and started creating more after that. The equaliser certainly gave us a huge boost and we kept carving out chances and might have added a second before the interval with Bonazzoli and Capello, and then Paramatti.
"In the second half we returned to the field looking even more determined. We made better use of the flanks and that enabled us to take advantage of the forward runs of Bonazzoli and Capello, as well as some good link-up play by Tassi and Palazzi."
Looking ahead to next week's fixture, the coach concluded: "We'll take the last 70 minutes of this game, when we played very well, and start preparing for Varese, who are a very well-drilled side."
