PRIMAVERA, INTER 2-1 HELLAS VERONA

Salvatore Cerrone's lads move up to third with a game in hand thanks to Bonazzoli's second-half winner. Longo (31) had replied to Alba (29) in the opening period

MILAN – The Nerazzurri Primavera came from behind to beat Hellas Verona 2-1 in this afternoon's league match at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti.

Alba headed the visitors in front after 29 minutes but Inter hit back immediately and drew level within two minutes when Longo met Tassi's corner and nodded home.

Bonazzoli replaced Puscas during the interval and it was the 16-year-old striker who grabbed what proved to be the matchwinner, sidestepping a couple of challenges before firing home a tidy finish shortly after the hour mark.

Inter almost made it three a few minutes later at the end of a lovely move involving Knudsen and Ventre, but Camara's header clipped the bar.

The win sees Salvatore Cerrone's side leapfrog AC Milan into third place with 18 points from eight games, five behind Group B leaders Atalanta but with the rescheduled Week 8 match against the Rossoneri still to be played (12 January 2014).
