MAZZARRI: "CONCENTRATION AND CONTINUITY"

Nerazzurri coach met the media ahead of Bologna: "That's what I want. It's never easy after the international break and Bologna are an improving team"

APPIANO GENTILE – It's back to Serie A action after the international break for Inter and Walter Mazzarri, who explained in his pre-match press conference today that "there are a number of factors to bear in mind, as is always the case after international fixtures. You have very little time to get ready for the game and with players jetting off all over the world they can lose a bit of sharpness. Plus it's never easy away from home. Bologna are an improving side, they had a bad defeat before the break but they're on the up. They have quality players like Diamanti, Bianchi, Koné and Pazienza. They're a good team and we have to be very careful but at the same time focus on ourselves because if we do our jobs well we can get a good result. That's the philosophy we're working with."

The coach was then asked if all the attention on the club and the changes going on might be a risk. "Yes, it could be a risk. But not for me. Possibly for the players on a subconscious level but I'll do everything I can to make sure they maintain their focus. We're working to make sure there are no drops in concentration."

Concentration but also continuity, as Mazzarri underlined: "At the start of a new project you start everything almost from scratch, which is what happened to us. It's good – and as a coach this is something I like – to see continuity, to give ourselves lots of exams and to understand how far we've come. We're doing that one game at a time."
